My whole family This a picture of my whole family at a Mexican restaurant in Mexico City. My mom is already retired and does not have anymore the restaurants. However, we always love going to Mexican restaurants and trying old and new dishes and above all, spend time together ๐

Cooking from an early age
I started cooking ever since I was a young teenager. My mom used to own Mexican restaurants in Mexico City. I loved going into the restaurant kitchens and observed the cooks and chefs perform their craft. As I grew older, I went into the kitchens and learned the very basics, from clearing tables up to cooking dishes myself.
They called me "Lunita" I still remember one of the chefs used to call me "Lunita" which means little moon. I honestly don't know why, but it sounded cute ๐
So growing up as the 'Lunita" in the kitchens of my mom's restaurants taught me not only about the richness of Mexican cuisine, but also about the hard work and dedication that chefs and cooks put into every dish they made. That is something that was instilled in me since an early age.
I thank all those chefs and my mom Not only do I thank all those chefs and cooks for what I know about Mexican cuisine and cooking in general, but also to my mom who is for me, the best cook I've known. She could prepare a delicious meal in 30 minutes or less with just a few ingredients for a family of 5 children!
The intent of my website is to help you along your journey from probably not knowing much about Mexican cuisine to cooking a more elaborate dish and why not.. maybe even doing some fusions with other types of cuisines.
I keep on burning myself, and I have food stains on my ceiling. That is the price you have to pay if you want to keep on learning, experimenting and developing new recipes. I go through all of these so you don't have to go through the same mistakes. My recipes are reliable, clear, and with some cultural explanation if I feel it's necessary.
So if you are up for it, put on the apron and let's get cooking!
